Back from blogger limbo...

Wow it has been so long since I have written... I am happy to say that I am not coming back because I have regained a bunch of weight and need to recommit, but I am pretty much in the same place (weightwise) as I was during my last post. For some reason blogging about my life has just not been a priority for the past few months.. but I have not given up the fight and have been busy living my life and having some fun adventures. I am still frustrated with the fact that I can not seem to make significant progress in my weight loss goals despite continuing to eat healthy and exercise regularily... one great week can seem me lose a pound, one slightly off week can see me gain 5. I have resigned myself to the fact that years of yo-yo dieting has left my metabolism ridiculously slow and I will be celebrate every loss no matter how tiny and I will continue to treat my body with respect by exercising and giving it healthy fuel.

In January I wrote about going fishing with my husband (in my cute waders) and we have continued to do lots of that. I caught my first Sockeye on the weekend and was so proud!! Fishing for these beauties from shore is not easy and (not to brag too much) I was better than a lot of the guys out there... femae patience is an assest in this situation!

I have been riding my bike to work most days. The trip is 10km each way and I have begun to look forward to this time enjoying nature every day. A lot of my ride follows the ocean and it is a spectacular view!

We have begun a weightloss competition at work. We have a public weigh-in once a week and everyone puts in $2. At the end of 4 weeks the person losing the largest % wins the pot ($76!) I came in third last month. It was hard for all of us during the first weigh-in but now that the number is out there everyone feels comfortable and it is great having the added support.

As far as food goes I am following the clean eating philosophy as much as possible. No processed food and that now includes meat, I eat the fish and seafood we catch and some organic chicken and eggs, and bison from a local farm. Despite still weighing 215lbs I feel fit and healthy so it is hard to be too unhappy with my progress.

I have also recently begun taking melatonin in the evenings and my insomnia is gone!! I have struggled with sleeping problems for years and now I get 8 hours every night - what an amazing change... part of me hopes that this might be the final piece to kick start the weightloss again.

I'm sure all of my readers have forgotten about me but I know I often wonder what happened to the bloggers who disappear so I thought I would check in. Here is a picture of me and my fish!!
